Previous work has shown that galvanic skin response increases after performing stressful psychological tasks (Allen et al., 2014; Cohen, Swanson, Naliboff, Schandler, & McArthur, 1986; Sun et al., 2012). Since there was no increase in galvanic skin response in the upright walking group, this suggests that the upright posture was helping to reduce stress levels.
